A handful of doctrinaire Marxists are whining about President-elect Barack O’Rival’s cabinet selections as not sufficiently Leninist in nature, complaining about economic luminaries like Larry Summers, who according to some sectarian Trotskyites, is somehow “tainted” for having worked in the Reagan administration, doubled the suicide rate in Lithuania as a result of economic reforms, and written a funny memo about how logical it would be to send toxic waste to “under-polluted”Africa. Obama’s Deputy National campaign director, Steve Hildebrand, wants all you filthy anarchists “Obama’s Progressive Critics” to know that Obama is not just the President of Dirty Hippies:
“This is not a time for the left wing of our Party to draw conclusions about the Cabinet and White House appointments that President-Elect Obama is making. Some believe the appointments generally aren’t progressive enough…The problems I mentioned above and the many I didn’t, suggest that our President surround himself with the most qualified people to address these challenges. After all, he was elected to be the President of all the people – not just those on the left.”
Sure, the dog-whistle red-baiting is familiar, and pisses off communist bloggers , but Hildebrand has a point: Obama is infallible, the Left is always bitching, and our Hopetastic leader was elected President of Henry Kissinger and Karl Rove, too, dumbfuck Commies!
